Meet Our Governors

Mrs Chrissie Green       Chair

My name is Chrissie Green, and recently I have become a co opted governor at Bedgrove Infant School.

I have two children at the school within Foundation 1 and Year 2 and after seeing how my daughter has flourished within the school felt that supporting the school as a governor was the next step forward.

In my home life I am currently setting up to childmind until my youngest who is 1 starts school, and have recently completed my degree within Education Studies and Human Geography at Northampton University, with other childcare knowledge, qualifications and experience aim to help the school maintain its outstanding Oftsed status and support the children, staff and parents within the school.

Mrs Sue Quirk

My name is Sue Quirk and I recently became a co-opted governor at Bedgrove Infant School.

Many years ago I served as a governor at the school I worked in and my children attended and I now find myself serving on the body for the school my granddaughter attends. Things have changed somewhat and I am looking forward to the challenges this role now brings. I aim to fully support the school in every way I can and to help them maintain their Outstanding Ofsted status.
In my working life I am an Education Manager working with Looked After Children, I visit many schools and work alongside a variety of professionals and some amazing young people and I feel that the experience and knowledge I have gained from this will enable me to become a valued member of the team.

mISS Julie Lawrence      Headteacher

I have been involved in the Governing Body of Bedgrove Infant School since September 2011, when I was appointed the Deputy Headteacher and from September 2017, I have had the privilege of being the Headteacher.
I play a pivotal role in keeping the Governors fully informed of the performance of the school and support them in challenging the Strategic Leadership Team to ensure we provide the very best education possible for all of our children.

Mrs Carolyn Lee

I first became a parent governor in 2005 when my eldest child started at Bedgrove Infant School. I have been a member of the governing body since then and have had involvement in all of the committees.

I was Chair of the governing body from 2008-2012, a role I thoroughly enjoyed and one which enabled me to support the school in continuing to develop as an outstanding provider of education. I joined the staff team in 2012 as F1 Manager and am also a member of the Senior Leadership team. Prior to this I worked as an Early Years consultant both independently and for Buckinghamshire Early Years Team.

Mrs Annette Smith

My name is Annette Smith and I have worked at Bedgrove Infant School, for the past twenty-seven years.

I started out helping when my two children attended the school and have been employed by the school since 1991.
During this time, I have trained as a Specialist Teacher Assistant, and Higher Level Teaching  Assistant. Having worked in various roles throughout the school, I look forward to the new challenge of governor, and further opportunities to contribute to the ongoing success of the school.

Mrs Louise Sim

Mr Phil Jackson

Resigned July 2017

My name is Philip Jackson and I became a co-opted governor at Bedgrove Infant School in September 2015I

Both of my children began their education at BIS and have gained a solid footing both in their education and social lives. I am a professionally qualified accountant, currently working in catering, but I also have experience in IT and Human Resources.

I am now in my second year as Chair of Governors, the role provides a great deal of challenges that I would never face in my day to day life, and knowing that I am participating in the development of the school for the benefit of the children is enormously fulfilling

Mrs Daphne McKay

Resigned 23.10.18

Both my children attended BIS and thoroughly enjoyed their time here. I joined the staff at the same time as my eldest child started in F2, first as a parent helper then as a lunchtime supervisor before becoming a TA. I did my teacher training at BIS and was delighted to be offered a job at the school. I have been Year Group Leader in Year 1 and am now doing the same in F2.

I am Neil Hassell and I have been a co-opted member of the governing body since September 2018.

I have the privilege of being the principal of a large and successful secondary school, serving a community in North London, having previously held senior leadership roles at schools in Buckinghamshire and London.
I am an engineering, science and technology graduate and have worked in recruitment, training, construction and in military engineering, having served in the Territorial Army for seventeen years.
I am keen on water sports of all kinds; particularly I am a rebreather diver and a technical diving instructor.
I live on the edge of the Chilterns with my wife and young son.

My name is Fadzai Mashingaidze, I am a newly appointed co-opted governor as of February 2017.

I have two children, my eldest son is 16years and attended Bedgrove Junior School from year 3 when we moved from London. My youngest, a daughter aged 12years attended Bedgrove Infant School and had an amazing time both academically and socially. She is now attending a local girls grammar school, a credit to the foundation she built at this school.
I work full time locally, within children and families services. I bring skills and knowledge in child development, behaviour management, safeguarding and project management. I have a passion to empower parents and give children the best start in life.
As a governor I oversee the Quality First Teaching. This entails being a critical friend with the school in making sure that our children receive the best teaching suited to their needs.
I look forward to working with the parents, children, body of governors and staff at Bedgrove Infant School in believing, inspiring and allowing our children to shine.
“Every student can learn, just not on the same day, or the same way.”
— George Evans

I’ve recently joined Bedgrove Infant School as a Co opted Governor and this is my first Governor role. I live locally and wanted to give something back and felt that being involved in a school as a Governor would be both rewarding and interesting. I’m the MD of a large Recruitment Agency and have been in recruitment for over 20 years. It’s a fascinating job and uses many skill including HR, Finance, Learning and Development and I hope that these skills can transfer into the Governor role and help to benefit the school.
